Got Sin? Who Cares?

Are you overwhelmed by the guilt of sin? Is the load so heavy that you are falling under its weight, feeling hopeless and helpless? God knows you cannot carry it.

The Bible teaches that no one is righteous, no not one (Romans 3:10), because all of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard (Romans 3:23). Because of that sin, man has earned death (Romans 6:23a)! Quite the burden to bear with thinking there is no way out.

But God loved us when we were yet sinners and sent Jesus to die for us (Romans 5:8). His gift of Jesus paid the debt caused by sin and He gives eternal life (Romans 6:23b). If we accept Jesus’ death on the cross as payment for our sin debt and believe He rose again from the dead, God says we can be saved (Romans 10:9). Once a believer, Paul says, “There is now, therefore, no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:9). This means we are no longer condemned to death but have been given eternal life!

Who cares? God cares! The Bible says God cares for us and wants us to cast our burdens on Him so He can carry them for us (Psalm 55:22; I Peter 5:7). Jesus says, “come to me, all that labor and are heavy laden [with burdens] and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

God provided a simple way for us to rid ourselves of that sin guilt and escape His judgment. Coming to Jesus gives us God’s gift of eternal life, lightens our burden as He carries it for us, and gives us help, hope, and the peace of God that passes all understanding. Giving it over to God means we stand clean and righteous before Him for eternity!
