Thanks for your response. In a nutshell: Old Testament tithing supported the priests and their ministries. That principle applies today to the local assembly of believers. The lead shepherd/servant of the assembly is accountable to God for what is done with those monies. A believer's giving allows the church to further its teaching of the saints, the outreach to the community, and for global missions. If it is squandered on jets, vehicles, and the leader's bank account, the giver does not have a Biblical leader defined by Scripture and needs to reallocate his/her attendance and money to a Bible-believing church.
